Dixon Valve is a more than 100 year old company located in Chestertown, MD. With several hundred employees worldwide, Dixon is a leading provider of fabricated valves and couplings.
With continued workforce challenges, Dixon has struggled to identify, recruit and hire qualified candidates to fill positions in machining. Coupled with an aging workforce and challenges in attracting new talent, Dixon has decided to undergo and train their own machinists through the development of a Journeyman Apprenticeship Program.
MD MEP is working with Dixon to evaluate their current and future job skills and needs, identify training requirements and establish a robust apprenticeship training program capable of producing qualified machinists for Dixon Valve. The project is expected to result in a certified apprenticeship program and 30-50 jobs in the next 3 years.Back to Success Stories
